The Spiritual world of Arthur Brown

Many have asked about Arthur's various spiritual paths, well in time he will be putting more parts to this section of the site.

Here is some information about the Gurdjieff Tradition that Arthur was involved with in Texas

THE GURDJIEFF MOVEMENTS

About The Movements: Traditionally, the study and practice of sacred and ritual dance has been an integral part of esoteric school work. Used and preserved today within the oral transmission of Gurdjieff s teaching, "The Movements" make available to the student opportunities to achieve unique states of awareness appropriate for his or her spiritual work.

Gurdjieff, a "teacher of temple dancing," introduced a large body of these "spiritual gymnastics" to his students. Many come directly out of his contacts with schools from the regions of North Africa through Central Asia (and possibly as far as Tibet); and many are of his own creation, based on recollections of music and rhythms encountered on his travels.
